Family care, assistance, and emergency services
The Family Development program provides free services to meet the needs of Hispanic adults, families and children living in Sussex County. Services include, but are not limited to, emergency assistance (clothes and food), translation and interpretation, transportation, court assistance and accompaniment, referrals, financial management, and accompaniment to public agencies, medical providers and other social services agencies.
Through the Family Development program, we also offer community outreach and prevention information regarding substance abuse, breast cancer awareness, healthy homes, and pre and post-natal care.

Pre & Post Natal Care Services
La Esperanza collaborates with local and state health programs to provide direct services for low-income pregnant Hispanic women and their babies in Sussex County. The language, culture, and economic barriers, as well as lack of education, transportation and rural isolation, can prevent access to quality healthcare and health services for mom and baby.
By assisting and accompanying our clients, we increase client participation and access to natal programs and services to lower the risk of pre-mature and low birth weight babies. Our goal is to provide outreach, education, and awareness services for Hispanic women to improve pregnancy and healthy baby outcomes.
